Italian designer Maria Francesca Paternò receives Maugeri Award – Amenano d’Argento

Italian designer Francesca Paternò was awarded a Silver Amenano during the 19th edition of the Maugeri Award, an annual event promoting the industriousness and creativity of Sicilian talents.

Dec. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Six beautiful haute couture dresses from her atelier, La Via della Seta, elegantly walked on stage. Among them, the magnificent gown representing the Italian flag, made in honor of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy.

The prize was given to reward the quality of her creations and her charity work.  It was a very emotional moment when the fashion engineer – as she likes to call herself – dedicated the prize to her brother, who passed away recently.

Francesca Paternò’s unique and sophisticated style is known and loved all over the world. She recently attended the Italian Fashion Expo in Dallas, Texas, an international salon promoting made in Italy. Miss Great Britain herself, Amy Carrier, is a fan of the Sicilian-born designer and wears her creations. Also Fay L. Bacon, owner of UK Model Folios and Celebrity Publicity, has chosen La Via della Seta for her wedding.
