Montgomery County Club to Hold Toastmasters Open House on 11-15-11

Nov. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- The Montgomery County Toastmasters Club of Hillsboro, IL met at the Challacombe house on November 1, 2011.  Nine club members were present.  Club president Maria Eilers welcomed two guests.  The club also made plans to host a special OPEN HOUSE at the November 15th meeting in conjunction with District 8's "Toastmasters Week".  Those curious about Toastmasters are encouraged to attend.  Refreshments will be served.  

Maria Eilers served as the evening's Master of Ceremonies.  The prepared speaker was club member Myra Mollett from Greenville who spoke about "Fire Safety".  It was Myra's third speech as a member of Toastmasters.

Bill Guthrie was in charge of the impromptu speaking part of the program.  Each of 4 club members chosen had 2 minutes to speak on topics that tied in with the upcoming meeting's "Open House" theme.  

The Montgomery County Toastmasters Club will next meet on Tuesday, 11-15-11.  Once again, they'll meet at the Challlacombe House in Hillsboro from 7 PM to 8 P.M.. Guests are always welcome and encouraged to attend.  The lone prepared speaker for the "Open House" will be Dr. Todd Austin from Virden.  Austin, also known as "The Bat Doctor", has spoken about the world's only flying mammals to over 4,500 people of all ages throughout IL since 1995.  At the Open House, Austin will be speaking about the large bat convention that he recently attended in Chicago.  For more information about Dr. Austin's Illinois bat presentations, please go to:  http://www.TheBatDoctor.net  

There will be short testimonials by a few club members about what Toastmasters has done for them.  Time will also be allotted to get your questions about Toastmasters answered.
