Montgomery County Toastmasters Club of Hillsboro, IL meets on 'Election Night 2010'.

Nov. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- Montgomery County Toastmasters Welcome Guest on Election Night.    

   The Montgomery County Toastmasters club met on Tuesday 11-2-10 at the Challcombe House in Hillsboro, IL.  Club members from the following IL communities: Coffeen, Greenville, Hillsboro, Litchfield and Virden were present.  One guest, Pastor Tim Shrader, from First Baptist Church in Litchfield was also present.  

   Myra Mollett from Greenville served as the meeting’s master of ceremonies.  The theme of the meeting was ‘election night’.  Dennis Viehweg conducted a current events themed version of Tabletopics (the impromptu speaking portion of the program).  Each participant had to give a 1 to 2 minute impromptu response to a different question.

    The evening’s prepared speaker was Jerry Howard.  Jerry, who is an auctioneer, gave an informative, basic communicators manual presentation called "The Insiders Guide To Auctions”.  Ashley Lawrence evaluated Howard’s speech.  

   Some members of the Toastmasters club have also been keeping busy since the last meeting.  Club members Bill Guthrie, Martha Ruppert and Todd Austin put on a demonstration meeting for a Blackburn College public speaking class of 18 students on 10-21-10 in Carlinville, IL.  If you are interested in a Toastmasters demo meeting for your group, the Mont-Co club can be found online at:   http://www.facebook.com/MontCo.Toastmasters.Hillsboro.IL .

                    Dr. Todd Austin, who has been an avid bat enthusiast and bat conservationist for twenty years now, also had the opportunity to speak to 280 Virden Elementary School students about these mysterious flyers of the night on 10-26-10.  For info about Todd's bat presentations, please visit:

                    The Montgomery County Toastmasters club will next meet on Tuesday November 16, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Challcombe House in Hillsboro.  The prepared speaker on 11-16-10 will be Myra Mollett.
