Nov. 4, 2010 - PRLog -- IntApp, Inc., the leading provider of confidentiality management software for law firms, today announced that an independent survey by the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) of its membership shows Wall Builder continues its market momentum, with significant product adoption reported by large and mid-sized law firms.

ILTA's 2010 Technology Survey presents responses collected from over 460 law firms, comprising over 80,000 attorneys and nearly 180,000 total users. Report data show that 74% of large law firms (700 or more lawyers) using commercial software to enforce ethical screens to secure access to confidential information have standardized on IntApp Wall Builder. Of firms with 350 to 699 lawyers using commercial confidentiality management software, 60% have chosen Wall Builder.

The survey report presents market share data on several software products available to law firms.

The survey analysis also highlights the value of proper ethical screening and confidentiality controls to law firms: "It's important to note that, at larger firms, getting 'conflicted out' of new business can be difficult to avoid due to the sheer number of firm clients, and having a state-of-the-art, defensible ethical walls strategy to demonstrate to your clients may increase the likelihood of garnering a waiver."

Law firms must closely manage, limit and track internal access to client information for reasons beyond waiver-driven ethical walls. These include increasingly stringent client outside counsel guidelines and compliance with regulations such as the HITECH Act, ITAR and several data privacy laws.

Wall Builder is a web-based confidentiality management application that enables organizations to centrally control, monitor and report on user access permissions across multiple applications including document management, accounting, portal, CRM, time entry and records management systems. It also automates notifications to individuals subject to specific policies and tracks acknowledgments for compliance purposes.

"These numbers are gratifying, but we're most pleased by the qualitative aspects of our market success, highlighted by the unmatched number of referenceable law firm clients using Wall Builder in active, production environments," said Pat Archbold, head of IntApp's Risk Practice Group. "As law firms face increasing pressure to enhance their confidentiality and compliance capabilities, they continue to choose IntApp as their preferred vendor for information risk management."
