NY Giants linebacker Gerris Wilkinson has dedicated much of his offseason to serving at-risk youth. The Georgia Institute of Technology graduate serves as the Chairman of the board of directors for Youth Enhancement Services, Inc (YES).  YES is an education and mentoring focused nonprofit, in the Atlanta community.

"YES is important to me because we are addressing a deep need in the community. I believe strongly in the power of education, and YES gives our students a chance and a helping hand in learning to educate themselves," said Wilkinson.

YES, Inc. was founded in 1990 to address the needs of a steadily increasing population of unskilled high school drop outs. The nonprofits’ mission is to develop and implement effective programs and practical action strategies for youth and their families. YES provides GED/Literacy tutorials, post-secondary enrollment, job readiness training, cultural enrichment and mentoring programs for youth ages 16-22.

Wilkinson partners with his fiancé Kai Williamson, also a Georgia Tech graduate and the Executive Director of YES.  “It is my goal to increase awareness and support to aide in our growing endeavors,” said Kai Williamson.

YES  is  celebrating its 20th year of service with YES Escape 2010. The exclusive fundraising event will take place Friday, July 9 at the Le Reve Estate, an Allied Angel House provided by Troy Stone and Beachum Realty.  YES Escape 2010 will encompass a day of golfing, bowling, billiards, silent auction and tours of the 47,000 sq ft. mansion.

The event will connect supporters with professional athletes at the top of their game including Detroit Lions, wide receiver Calvin Johnson, New York Giants, defensive end Osi Umenyiora, Dallas Cowboys, running back Tashard Choice, Toronto Raptors, point guard Jarrett Jack, Atlanta Hawks guard Mario West and many others.

In addition to the support of  many NFL and NBA talents, YES has teamed up with Golden Corral, Amware Logistics, Georgia Power, AT&T and Priority Sports  to sponsor the YES Escape 2010 event.
