Follow on Google News | BioPoint Ltd, announce imaging partnership with BioImage Corporation on software and informatics.Cambridge company adds a range of analytical software to it‘s growing portfolio.
By: Gerry Skews BioImage has been developing advanced imaging systems for over 20 years and supplies many leading research institutes and pharmaceutical companies with its standard and 21 CFR 11 compliant systems. The company has two software products that provide analytical solutions for research bioscience organisations. The IQ product is designed to address all standard applications requiring documentation, analysis and reporting. The AQ system provides a higher level of analytical performance that includes data basing and inter-sample comparisons. The products provide analytical capabilities for 1D, 2D, Blotting, Sequencing, Colony counting and Stem Cell imaging. Both the IQ and AQ systems provide quantitation and calibration as well as a unique “Qwick key” process. This uses standard settings to execute simplified workflows automatically which makes transfer from “procedure definition” to “routine running” very quick and simple. With this approach, a procedure can be defined for example, scan the image, display it and use the mouse to define the areas of interest, the system will then pause to allow editing and modification. Once this is completed the system will automatically perform the analysis, make measurements and output the data in a variety of formats. Commenting on the agreement Gerry Skews, Director of business development, said “The collaboration with BioImage marks an important step forward in the development of BioPoint.” He added “BioPoint is fully committed to offering a complete range of technologies from sample handling right through to data analytics. More importantly we aim to un-bundle the technology giving scientists and engineers the freedom to choose which components are used or integrated in the analytical workflow.” BioPoint will offer the BioImage systems for sale on their website and will make the products available for download. A limited license will be available as a free download, then a key can be purchased to activate the full functions of the products. The standard IQ and AQ products will be supported by BioPoint specialists in Cambridge backed up by staff in Michigan. The 21.CFR.11 pharmaceutical software versions will be sold in collaboration between the two companies. Further information about the device can be found on the BioPoint Website at http://www.biopoint.co.uk/ Product Data Sheet http://www.biopoint.co.uk/ End
