Accuform Signs Releases “No Texting While Driving” Signs And Labels

“Distracted Driving” is a global concern and must be addressed "head-on."

Dec. 4, 2009 - PRLog -- Accuform Signs, North America’s leading provider of facility safety identification products, introduced its “No Texting While Driving” signs and labels on the heels of the National Safety Council’s 2009 Congress and Expo, where “Distracted Driving” was, by far, the number one safety issue.

To meet the need for proper identification measures Accuform Signs has introduced “No Texting” signs for highway, school and workplace use (among other locations). Additionally, Accuform Signs now offers a line of “No Texting” labels that are ideal for placement in company vehicles, rental cars and on the backs of company-issued mobile devices.

In January, NSC became the first national organization to call for a total ban on vehicular cell-phone use, based on scientific estimates that cell-phone use while driving contributes to:

•   6 percent of crashes, or 636,000 crashes
•   330,000 injuries, 12,000 serious injuries
•   2,600 deaths each year

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, who tracks state laws for cell-phone and text usage, reports that:

•   Seven states have completely banned cell-phone use completely
•   16 states have completely banned cell-phone use for bus drivers
•   17 states have completely banned texting while driving

David Johnson, President of Accuform added, “Helping to save the lives of employees, their families and people throughout the nation is a reflection on the values of our company.”
