They will be introduced to resources available in a member-exclusive toolkit for expectant parents, and to services available through organizations who partner with Multiples of America. The initiative will give specific attention to assisting parents with one or more babies who begin their lives in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Data shows that 60% of twin pregnancies and nearly all of higher order multiple pregnancies result in preterm birth with a significant portion of those requiring a stay in the NICU. With that in mind, Great Expectations Multiplied will connect expectant parents with a specialized pamphlet for parents with infants in the NICU, and the organization's bi-monthly publication, Multiple Connections, will carry a series of articles about the NICU experience and the transition home. These expanded services, including all seminars and resources, are offered free to members of Multiples of America.
