NEW YORK - Aug. 15, 2025 - PRLog -- The Icla da Silva Foundation has released an emotional new video that conveys the physical and emotional toll of chemotherapy before a bone marrow transplant. Told entirely in the words of a former patient, the piece offers an unfiltered perspective from someone who has lived through the experience, while choosing to remain off camera and protect her voice.

The Foundation hopes the video will serve as a window into the realities faced by transplant patients — many of whom must overcome overwhelming obstacles before they can even begin treatment. For patients from underserved communities, those challenges often include the crushing costs of transportation, housing, meals, and other essential needs not covered by insurance.

Since 2022, the Icla da Silva Foundation has provided more than $1 million in assistance, helping over 1,900 patients move forward with a bone marrow transplant. By funding non-medical expenses during treatment, they ensure families do not have to choose between pursuing life-saving care and meeting the basic necessities of living.

The video is a poignant reminder of why this mission matters — and why continued community support is essential.
