DALLAS - Sept. 4, 2025 - PRLog -- Sickle Cell Awareness Month is a time to highlight the urgent needs of patients living with sickle cell disease. For many, a bone marrow transplant offers the only potential cure. Yet, the path to a transplant is complex and costly. Patients must travel to specialized centers and often stay away from home for many months. Families face the cost for transportation, lodging, meals, and caregiving expenses that insurance rarely covers. Without support, these financial burdens can delay or even prevent access to life-saving treatment.

The Icla da Silva Foundation has been helping patients overcome the obstacles of receiving a bone marrow transplant since 1992. By providing financial, emotional, and logistical support, they give patients and their families the focus and relief needed to complete treatment and recovery.

Support patients on their path to a cure by donating to this nonprofit. Your donation helps cover essential costs, making a tangible difference in a patient's journey. Every gift helps remove barriers and brings hope to those navigating the difficult journey to a bone marrow transplant.
