CLEARWATER, Fla. - Aug. 7, 2025 - PRLog -- On Saturday, August 16th, the Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) Center will host a "Cats & Canvas" painting party fundraiser from 5:00pm to 7:00pm to benefit Full of Cattitude Cat Rescue, a nonprofit working to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abandoned cats in the Clearwater and Tampa Bay area. Guests are asked to donate $20 for admission that will directly fund the rescue's mission.

Pinellas County is estimated to be home to over 160,000 free‑roaming, unowned "community cats." Without sustained intervention, this population continues to grow through unchecked breeding. According to the ASPCA, in the U.S., approximately 273,000 cats were euthanized in 2024. Rescues like Full of Cattitude serve as the last line of defense against overcrowded shelters and euthanasia.

Full of Cattitude was formed in 2024 after two cat-lovers saw that more needed to be done to help the growing stray feline population in Florida. Together, they have a combined 31 years of experience in rescuing animals.

Participants will take part in a guided painting session while meeting some of the rescue's adoptable cats. Admission includes all painting supplies and refreshments. Guests are also encouraged to bring donations of wet food, litter, or cleaning supplies to support the rescue's operations.

"Every dollar raised goes directly toward food, vet bills, and shelter for cats that would otherwise be left to suffer," said Tracy Hawkins, Director of the CCV Center. "This isn't just a fun evening—it's a lifeline for animals in need."

Full of Cattitude operates solely on donations and volunteer support. Funds from this event will cover urgent medical cases and basic care for the cats currently in their program.
