Red Ribbon Week Recognized and Honored at the October Charity Coalition LuncheonNonprofits will collaborate and learn how they can help make a drug-free community at the October 15th Charity Coalition.
By: Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization The luncheon also features a local anti-drug nonprofit as the spotlight charity, in recognition of Red Ribbon Week—the nation's oldest and largest drug prevention campaign starting in 1985, held annually to encourage communities to educate youth and promote healthy, drug-free lifestyles. Lynn Posyton, a lifelong volunteer and advocate for nonprofit service, will deliver a presentation on getting and keeping volunteers—a topic many nonprofits identify as one of their greatest challenges according to The Florida Nonprofit Alliance's 2024 survey. In that same survey, 44% of nonprofits in Florida said they served more clients in 2024 than in 2023, making it harder for them to manage without the extra manpower. Mrs. Posyton's workshop will provide tools and strategies to attract dedicated volunteers and inspire them to stay engaged for the long term. In addition to the program, guests will enjoy a complimentary gourmet lunch, networking opportunities, and a business card raffle designed to build lasting connections among local nonprofits.
