| ![]() Peer Support Alliance to Launch First-Ever 24/7 Peer Support App for Adults with Mental IllnessBy: Peer Support Alliance preparing to launch a groundbreaking new mobile app in late August that will offer 24/7 peer support for adults living with mental illness. Founded by Todd Cericola, Peer Support Alliance aims to fill a critical gap in the mental health care system—offering continuous support from real people who understand what it's like to struggle with mental illness. "As someone that has experienced the challenges of mental illness firsthand, I felt a void for support at times and wanted to make sure that others could have a system in place that they could lean on anytime—day or night—from people that understand exactly what they're dealing with," said Cericola. The free app will include: • A 24/7 group chat where users can connect with others dealing with like issues • A quick-access list of national mental health hotlines • Curated resources and educational links for users and families • Biweekly Zoom meetings (with in-person groups coming soon) where people can discuss their issues, share coping mechanisms, or simply listen Peer Support Alliance is currently fundraising to complete app development and finalize its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. The organization has already gained strong early community support and is calling on both individuals and organizations to join their mission.
