ATLANTA - May 23, 2024 - PRLog -- ATLANTA – The Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) is pleased to announce the appointment of the City of Cedartown's Commission Chair Jessica Payton to the newly established Georgia City Solutions Ambassador Program.

Georgia City Solutions (GCS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created by GMA in 2018 to help city officials address the key challenges that are holding them back and keeping them from reaching their full potential. Governed by a 12-member public-private Board of Directors, the work of GCS promotes economic mobility as a means of combating intergenerational poverty. GCS has successfully launched programs in four focus areas, including Youth Leadership and Engagement, Municipal Workforce Development, Equity and Inclusion (E&I), and Literacy Improvement.

The Ambassador Program is designed to raise awareness and funds for GCS while fostering a community of dedicated individuals who share a passion for the organization's mission. GCA Ambassadors have been appointed from each of GMA's twelve districts.

As a GCS Ambassador, Commission Chair Payton will serve a crucial role in advocating for the goals and initiatives of GCS, leveraging her influence to amplify the organization's message and extend its reach to new audiences.

"We are proud to welcome Commission Chair Payton to the inaugural group of GCS Ambassadors," said GMA CEO and Executive Director Larry Hanson. "Her passion and commitment to making her community better makes her an ideal Ambassador. We look forward to collaborating with Commission Chair Payton to raise awareness, mobilize support, and broaden our impact across the state."
