GET's Dain Schult Comments On How The 2023 Radio Landscape Has Changed

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Oct. 3, 2023 - PRLog -- Global Entertainment Technology, Inc., ("GET"), acknowledges AM/FM radio's dying.  Internet Radio and streaming audio continue to dominate it.

GET Chairman, Dain L. Schult notes, "2023 has been a year of change as AM continues to disappear despite some fighting for it to stay in all cars while FM is trying to find its footing in streaming audio but still just trying to do the old form of radio on a new medium.

"Terrestrial Radio had always fended off other forms of entertainment trying to kill it in the past - from television in the Forties, MTV in the Eighties and other audio technologies. But Internet Radio is another thing all together. Streaming audio accounts for over 85% of U.S. labels' music revenue so listeners are reevaluating AM/FM's place in their listening habits and that's a scary news for AM and FM.

"The days of AM/FM being King in the Cars is over. Covid, working from home, less commuting and EVs have changed all that. All traditional forms of entertainment and news are dying – Network television, cable, newspapers, magazines.  AM/FM is still trying to figure out how to live in an Internet world to retain relevancy and profitability.

"With raging inflation continuing and the country literally splitting in half with differing political and lifestyle ideologies, threading one's way through what will work is trickier than it has ever been.  Station groups cutting staff and using AI instead along with record labels morphing out, the world of entertainment has changed forever.

"We're building select formats that can capture the sound and excitement of live AM/FM the way it used to be but reimagined with worldwide syndication through our Miracle Wonderland Radio Company.

"GET's Station Starter services will be 100% Internet Radio. Our proposed community-by-community buildout across the US and beyond will give local neighborhoods and towns the ability to finally have their own radio station geared directly to them."
