William Michael Cunningham files Amicus Brief in SEC vs. XRP

The Creative Investment Research CEO asked the Court for permission to file an amicus brief in support of the public interest. Cunningham has no connection with either of the parties in this case.
WASHINGTON - Dec. 2, 2022 - PRLog -- As news reports have indicated, "The CEO at Creative Investment Research, William Michael Cunningham, has asked District Judge Analisa Torres to grant him leave to file an amicus brief in support of the public interest" in the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) lawsuit targeting cryptocurrency XRP (Ripple), The suit seeks to classify digital currency as an investment. Mr. Cunningham has no connection with either of the parties in the case. In previous cases, Mr. Cunningham has filed Amicus Briefs in the public interest These include Mozilla Corporation vs. the Federal Communications Commission (18-cv-1051).

"As per the filings, Cunningham has sought permission in an attempt to distribute this brief to case participants fairly and effectively. Additionally, he aims to move the court to waive all defects in this filing. While filing his briefs as an individual, Cunningham confirms that he has no parent company, nor has he issued any stock."

Mr. Cunningham originally asked the Court for permission on November 8th. The judge in the case "granted permission to all entities who sought leaves to file their amicus briefs. While Ripple had 13 establishments having their back, the SEC only got three supporting them. So far, the six XRP holders, Coinbase, Veri DAO, Paradigm Operations, The Blockchain Association, Reaper Financial, The Crypto Council for Innovation, and Cryptillian Payment System have officially filed their briefs."
