Uncomfortable Conversations On Race We All Should Have And Embrace

A thing doesn't stop being true just because it's not accepted by many (majority). How can we encourage racial transparency when we don't address our blindspots?

NEW YORK - Sept. 7, 2021 - PRLog -- The more minorities and people of color are perceived as a part of the silent majority, the more binary thinking will be discouraged and replaced by multidisciplinary thoughts and perspectives. Ideally, all white and black intellectuals should have a lucid moment that affords these anointed experts/philosophers the ability to stop telling themselves (and others) counterproductive stories. Ideally, through self reflection the authors of most of the unsolicited advice regarding race should recognize their flawed approach. Once removed, through transparent and civil dialogue (regardless of discomfort), all races have a change to take ownership of how flawed we all are. Or should we seek out/fabricate a uniting distraction/story of aliens from another planet with plans to attack us on earth? Will this replace our petty bickering?

Charles McRay Blow is an American journalist, commentator, and op-ed columnist for The New York Times and current anchor for the Black News Channel. As a frequent reader of Charle Blow's oped, I can't help but notice a constant bias in all the author's writings. Unlike the New York Times, Mr Blow doesn't vaunt the illusion of neutrality. Unfortunately for the NY Times, and to a lesser degree (Fox News) they forget that neutrality is simply impossible vis a vis the really urgent questions confronting our civilization. The word 'bias' ultimately simply alludes to the business of having a 'take' on existence. Charle Blow's oped's may have a better or worse take, but we can't deny Mr Blow's take.

Regardless if you side with Mr Blow or the Ku Klux Klan, we all are capable of self reflection. Ideally, continue reading........ https://patch.com/new-york/parkslope/uncomfortable-conver...
