Snell & Wilmer Partner J. Damon Ashcraft Becomes President of Arizona Bar Foundation

PHOENIX - Jan. 11, 2021 - PRLog -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Phoenix partner J. Damon Ashcraft (https://www.swlaw.com/people/damon_ashcraft) has assumed the position of  president of the Arizona Bar Foundation (https://www.azbf.org/about-us/about-the-foundation).

The State Bar of Arizona created the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education as a separate 501(c) 3 organization in 1978, charging it with the mission of promoting access to justice for all Arizonans. The Foundation strives to fulfill this mission by preparing Arizona youth for civic responsibility and providing access to justice for Arizonans most in need. Through the provision of technical and financial assistance to probation & resource officers, teachers & administrators, private attorneys & judges, and legal service attorneys & advocates, the Foundation works to level the playing field, so that all in Arizona have knowledge and access to the justice systems.

Ashcraft is thrilled to work with the Arizona Bar Foundation and states "during these unprecedented times, ensuring that all Arizonans have access to justice is more important than ever."

Ashcraft is regularly involved in community and professional organizations. He has served his church Board, been on the Board for an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity. Professionally, he serves as Treasurer of the Intellectual Property Constituency at the Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers ("ICANN") and served as the Chair of the Nominating Committee for ICANN.

At Snell & Wilmer, Ashcraft assists clients in identifying, protecting, and maximizing the value of their intellectual property. In that regard, he has experience conducting intellectual property audits, preparing patent and trademark applications, preparing intellectual property and software license agreements, and handling various intellectual property litigation matters, including actions for patent infringement. Ashcraft has a keen understanding of the needs of emerging companies and is often called upon to identify and protect and monetize a company's intellectual property assets. Further, Ashcraft often is called upon to provide training to clients' employees in identifying valuable intellectual property.

Ashcraft has experience in domestic and foreign trademark registration and currently manages numerous trademark portfolios. Further, he enforces and defends clients' trademark rights before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and in various federal and state courts. Ashcraft has represented trademark owners in numerous domain name disputes resolved by the Universal Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy, or "UDRP."
