Northridge Gym Bringing Instruction to Clients

NORTHRIDGE, Ca.. -- Cheerleaders and gymnasts are receiving their training through computers, television, and cell phones during Safer At Home orders.  While Magnitude Cheer kept its doors open as long as possible, when the gym was forced to temporarily close mid-March, the coaches and owner worked to create a schedule of virtual classes for their members.

"During this unprecedented time, our clients are going through so much….parents are facilitating their child's education while working from home or dealing with layoffs, furloughs, or cutback in hours, and children's routines, which are so important for our youth, have been completely turned upside down" said Janae Cardona, owner of Magnitude Cheer. "Our athletes need and crave as much normalcy as possible.  Teaching online classes and hosting virtual team practices have brought so much joy into our staff and our clients' lives. Not only are our athletes able to maintain their fitness levels and skills, but also are able to try new classes from the convenience of their own home or backyard."

Although there isn't a definite date that Magnitude Cheer will be allowed to reopen, their staff is working harder than ever to continue to train their athletes and keep the children mentally focused, as well as provide social interaction with their coaches and gym friends.

Magnitude Cheer provides character and fitness education to about 175 athletes through cheerleading and tumbling.
