Ocean ENT now offers Telemedicine Video Visits

TOMS RIVER, N.J. - March 30, 2020 - PRLog -- Ocean ENT (Ocean Otolaryngology Associates), with offices in Manasquan and Toms River, is continually monitoring the public health situation related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and has now implemented Telemedicine Video Visits.

"Based on our national Academy's (AAO-HNS) recommendations, we have drastically limited patient care to those patients with urgent or time sensitive conditions," said Bruce W. Peters of Ocean ENT. "We understand that this may pose great imposition to our patients and we are doing everything we can to implement Telemedicine Video Visits with those patients that have concerns that may be addressed without subjecting our patients to in office risks.  These "face-to-face" visits have been working extremely well and greatly reduce risk of transmission of COVID-19 infection."

The Ocean ENT office is now open from 9 AM to 1 PM on a daily basis, Monday through Friday. The office staff will assist patients in setting up Telemedicine Video Visits with an Ocean ENT physician. To schedule an appointment, please call 732-281-0100.

"As everyone is aware, social distancing and avoidance has been the mainstay of decreasing transmission of the viral COVID-19 infection," said Dr. Peters. "Well-known symptoms such as, cough, fevers and shortness of breath are associated with the disease.  Additionally, common cold-like symptoms and diarrhea has also been known to be associated with this viral infection.  More recently, reports out of Europe and now the United States indicate that a loss of sense of smell and taste in the absence of other allergy symptoms including nasal congestion and a runny nose may indicate the possibility of COVID-19 infection."

If you or someone you know experiences any or all of these symptoms, Dr. Peters recommends that self-isolation should be seriously considered until you can speak to your ENT specialist or Primary Care Provider.
