Good value top-hat rail PC from Acceed

Feb. 16, 2020 - PRLog -- The new series of ultra-compact and fanless top-hat rail POC-500 controllers from Acceed consists of four models with varied equipment and two alternative processors for selection (AMD Ryzen V1605B and V1807B). Four PoE gigabit interfaces, four USB 3.0 ports and monitor connections are located directly on the front side. The serial interfaces and audio connections are accommodated on the narrow sides. The MezIO slot with high-speed interfaces, for which an array of special modules are available for the integration of application-orientated I/O functions, is a highlight. With these, it becomes easy to realise made-to-measure embedded applications affordably, which is ideal for space-critical applications in building automation, video monitoring or image processing within industrial surroundings.

The POC-500 series fanless box controllers are only a mere 64 x 116 x 176 mm in size and equipped either with the Ryzen processor V1605B (2.0/3.6 GHz,12 to 25 W TDP) or the V1605B (3.35/3.8 GHz, 35 to 54 W TDP) from AMD. The working memory for all model versions can be configured for up to 16GB with a DDR4-SDRAM module in the SODIMM socket.

The optimised design of the full-metal casing, which is specifically optimised for efficient heat conduction using a resistant aluminium alloy, allows robust operation at ambient temperatures between -25 and +70°C and also enables installation on narrow and poorly ventilated channels, switch boxes or weather-protected housing. Together with the two PoE gigabit connections, the POC-500 therefore is predestined for security applications with a high data throughput, for example from IP cameras and further applications with IP-based Smart devices. The high data transfer rate supports secure high-resolution video streaming, fast image analysis for surveillance and machine vision with GigE cameras, for example for security applications, production control or robot control.

Four USB 3.0 connections and several serial (RS-232/422/485) connection options provide high flexibility for data communication with devices, sensors and actors. A VGA monitor output supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 pixels, the display port resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 pixels. An audio output and microphone input round-off the generous equipment. In addition to the MezIO slot, a mini PCIe socket with a USIM slot for communication in the mobile communications network can be found within the housing on the PCB. An M.2 socket (PCIe Gen3 x2) is available for local data saving on extremely fast NVMe-SSD.
