LONDON - March 8, 2019 - PRLog -- First established in 1996, independent hip hop label New Dawn Records have re-emerged after a 15 year hiatus to announce a new set of releases and set out their vision for 2019 and beyond.

Originally operating in the pre-digital era resulted in a back catalogue comprising of a series of vinyl and CD releases before the decision was taken in 2004 to switch focus and place all resources into developing and establishing their in-house promotional division, UrbanElite PR.

U.E.P. would go on to become one of the leading promoters of hip hop, recognized worldwide for their work with not only renowned names such as D12, Souls of Mischief, TQ, Idris Elba, Rah Digga, Vast Aire, Bumpy Knuckles and Ultramagnetic Mcs, but in particular for the extensive multimedia coverage consistently produced for new, upcoming and developed independent artists.

Whether coverage in publications such as MOJO and HipHop DX, or guest appearances on BBC and Sirius XM broadcasts, this level of introduction for new artists is almost unprecedented. Notable campaigns include those with Copywrite, Melanin 9, Genesis Elijah, the younger brother of Royce da 5'9", Kid Vishis, the younger brothers of Crooked I, Horseshoe Gang, Constant Deviants, Iron Braydz, Verbal Kent, DJ Sarah Love, 050 Boyz, Classified, Deeprooted, whose numbers included Johaz now of Dag Savage, and many more.

This wealth of experience provides a key asset for the label as UEP returns to its original role within the overall operation.

New Dawn Records have signed a digital distribution partnership with US company Ingrooves, one of the world's leading players in their field. Four specially commissioned EP's will be released to mark the re-launch and provide the imprint with a digital presence ahead of their future plans. They will consist of digitally re-mastered back catalogue released originally on vinyl, never before available re-worked and re-edited originals and exclusive new material. These initial releases will be available to stream and download while the label incorporates physical formats longer term.

The first of these is the "Y'All in Meltdown – Lazarus EP Volume 1 EP" by hip hop crew Belles in Monica. A combination of their classic singles "Y'All Under Surveillance" and "Meltdown", both were championed by BBC Radio 1's Steve Lamacq among others, enjoyed international club support, featured in publications such as Billboard, DJ Magazine and Blues & Soul and were also provided as soundtracks for independent films.

Included are remixes by Phi Life Cypher beatmeister DJ Nappa and legendary DMC finalsit DJ Krash Slaughta, with further contributions by producers G-Sharp, Gripper and turntablist supreme DJ Mr Thing.

Releasing on April 26th, it is then closely followed by the "Sapientia EP" by Underground Cartel out on May 17th.

The brainchild of producer Kruze, this is an international collaborative project with multiple territories represented by a wide range of featured artists. From the United States, Swiss Precise (KBH Crew), Yukonn MC, Brandon J Atlas, Black Market, Lockness, Tone Rome and Crazy Ballhead all bring unique skills to the table alongside the UK's Creamo and Rapstation host Mr CRF.

They stand shoulder to shoulder with European representation in the form of El Meswy (Spain), Beni Blanco of the Originaires du Sud crew (France), Magellano (Croatia), Bleek (Holland), Grizu (Germany) and from Italy, Marya MC and the late, great Primo Brown of the renowned Cor Veleno crew. As the final extra ingredient, Zimbabwe's Dumi Right brings some African flavours to the mix.

With two further EP's already delivered, the label are already looking to the future and are in advanced talks with a select group of artists, several of whom will be familiar to those acquainted with UrbanElite PR's work.

Quoted from the label's own site, New Dawn describe their philosophy as "artist centric", personalized to accommodate individual requirements and redressing the balance by offering more in terms of infrastructure, support and financial recognition than is currently the industry standard. In this, their approach remains consistent represented by all divisions of their operation since inception.

Let the journey re-commence
