POPLAR GROVE, Ill. - March 8, 2019 - PRLog -- Released on March 8th, The Dark Starr Files 2: Articles Originally Published At Wormwood Chronicles - Volume 2" features articles that originally appeared in the ezine "Wormwood Chronicles."  The new book is composed of album and music video reviews. It only includes about half of Gary Hill's music reviews for "Wormwood Chronicles," specifically those whose names start with the letters "a" through "k." The first book in the series was released on February 5th and included humorous roasts of some Rockford area eateries, movie reviews, concert reviews, one spooky article about the creepy side of the Rockford area (sort of a precursor to "Spooky Rockford") and a number of interviews

The concept of the series (as the descriptions of the books say) is this: "From 1998 until the end of 2018 Gary Hill contributed articles to a zine called 'Wormwood Chronicles under the pen-name 'Dark Starr.' Now that the zine has ceased publication it seemed a good idea to archive all the articles." The final book in the series (which includes all of Hill's CD and music video reviews for artists whose names start with the letters "l" through "z," will be published on April 9th. .

Wormwood Chronicles was the creation of Rockford writer Mike Korn under the pseudonym "Dr. Abner Mality." It started as an print zine distributed regionally. It eventually shifted to the web and continued to flourish. In 2018 Korn made the decision to end Wormwood Chronicles by the end of the year. While the site remains at wormwoodchronicles.com, there are no new articles being published there now.

Hill made the decision to publish the articles as books to preserve them in the event of the future complete demise of the website. Hill has been publishing Music Street Journal (musicstreetjournal.com) since 1998. In August of 2006 his first book The Strange Sound of Cthulhu: Music Inspired by the Writings of H.P. Lovecraft was published. Since then several other books (The Concert Photography of Gary Hill, the original edition of Strange Realities: The Collected Short Stories of Gary Hill,  Poetry of the Air: A Collection of Love Letters from Musicians to Music,  The Suite Music World of Gary Hill), and Gary Hill's Rockford Beet: A Collection of Articles Originally Published at BeetCafe.com have been released. Hill has also written for cable television (Cops 2.0 on G4), All Music Guide, Demand Media Studios and more. He has recently launched Tales of Wonder and Dread Publishing to release science fiction and horror books, but published a collection of those types of stories in 2017 titled "Dark Dreams and Worlds."

The new book (as the first one) is available in paperback at lulu.com/strangesound and will be soon at Amazon.com and other book retailers. A hardcover edition of each  is available exclusively at lulu.com/strangesound.
