Calling All Photography Enthusiasts for "A Week in Paradise"

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - Jan. 22, 2019 - PRLog -- A Week in Paradise digital photography exhibit will be featured on display at visualartcenter.org, plus alongside Pictures in Paradise at The Visual Arts Center March 31 - April 24, 2019. Photographers, hobbyists and art enthusiasts  anywhere in the world are invited to join the exhibition.

Any type of digital camera, even your cell phone, can be used. Participate from anywhere in the world. There are no requirements to participate, except you must register. Registration opens at https://visualartcenter.org/collections/call-to-artists February 1, 2019 and will remain open until midnight on March 23, 2019. Entry fee is $20 ($16 for VAC Members) due at the time of your online registration.

Photographs for the event must be taken during the week of March 17 - 23.  Original photographs taken during the week should represent whatever you consider "Your Paradise", whether in Southwest Florida or anywhere. Pick your best 3 photos from the week and submit them by email March 17 - 23 to photos@visualartcenter.org by no later than midnight on Saturday, March 23. All photos submitted must be highest quality .jpeg format but no larger than 5MB each. A panel of judges will review the entries and select one photograph from each photographer for entry into the exhibition and printed photo book.

The Selected photos will be featured on a revolving screen in the "Pictures in Paradise" photo exhibit at the Visual Arts Center  March 31 - April 24.  They will also be displayed online in a revolving digital display at visualartcenter.org and printed in a book, available for purchase in the VAC Gift Shop and online. The following Prizes will be awarded for A Week in Paradise: Best of Show: $200, Excellence Award: $50, Merit Award(s).

Call to Photographers – "Pictures in Paradise"

The Visual Arts Center will feature Pictures in Paradise alongside the digital exhibit in the Main Gallery March 31 – April 24, 2019. This exhibit will feature photography (including enhanced or digital multimedia) shot in Paradise-around Southwest Florida. Receiving will be March 29, from 9am - 12pm, open to the public. Any type of photography may be entered into this exhibit, including enhanced or digital multimedia, so long as a camera was used as the foundation for photographic art. Photographs must be ready to hang at receiving. Gallery wrap, printed on metal, or framed are all acceptable provided they are ready to hang. The public is invited to a Reception and awards ceremony for both exhibits Thursday, April 4 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
