| ![]() Wells International Foundation Hosts Networking and Cultural Evening at Yves Saint Laurent MuseumWIF is uniting two of its Strategic Focus Areas, Women's Empowerment and The Arts, through The Successful Woman. Founder and CEO Dr. Monique Y. Wells explains why the selection of the museum as a venue for the event aligns perfectly with these themes: "Yves Saint Laurent did not only excel at fashion design. He took inspiration from fine arts in creating several of his designs. Examples include his famous embroidered recreations of Van Gogh's Sunflowers and Irises on jackets, his Homage to [Piet] Mondrian dresses, and his Evening Ensemble - Homage to Georges Braque. He was a major collector of fine art as well. "As the first haute couturier to create a line of ready-to-wear clothing, Saint Laurent empowered women through fashions that made them feel confident and comfortable. The current CEO of this line, which is now called Saint Laurent Paris, is a woman. Francesca Bellettini played a pivotal role in growing the business to over $1 billion in sales within four years of having joined the company. "Saint Laurent was the first person of his stature in the fashion industry to employ women of color as runway models, which represents another means of empowering women. He was responsible for Naomi Campbell getting her first cover on French Vogue magazine in 1988. "It also happens that International Women's Day and our event coincide with Spring Fashion Week in Paris . . . "What could be more appropriate than strengthening the budding relationships formed during the first day of our conference in this powerful and inspiring environment?" The evening will consist of a champagne welcome and private tour of the entire museum – including Saint Laurent's studio – followed by a cocktail dinner reception during which conference participants will be able to mingle and discuss the events of the day. Champagne will be furnished by the House of NOBEL™ (http://houseofnobel.com/ The Successful Woman will provide an opportunity for high-achieving women from around the world (C-level executives, upper-middle managers, 7-figure business owners, licensed professionals…) WIF will create a safe and welcoming environment in which these women can explore the challenges and questions they have about their lives that they constantly put off because of lack of time, lack of energy, and/or fear of exposure to people who don't "get it" or who might use their revelations against them. Programming will include a keynote presentation, a panel discussion, mastermind sessions, and dedicated time for social interaction.
