LOS ANGELES - Aug. 21, 2018 - PRLog -- Today there is one more reason to fall happily in love with an entirely new sound from the ukulele -- the album 'Ukulele Glue' is now available everywhere! Ukulele is such a feel-good instrument, beloved by George Harrison, Eddie Vedder, Bruce Springsteen -- and ccMixter's very own Kara Square. 'Ukulele Glue' features 17 genre-diverse instrumental tracks and is a rip-roaring sonic demonstration of the versatility of the ukulele -- as well as Kara's tremendous ukulele prowess!

Through the power of open collaboration made possible by the online community at ccMixter, Kara Square and her international musical co-conspirators created these lively instrumental remixes that take genre-hopping and genre-mashing to an entirely new dimension. As the album bounces around from indie rock, metal, folk, world, reggae, and more, the glue that holds it all together is the mighty, multifaceted ukulele.

"Kara Square is one of the most beloved contributors in the ccMixter community," remarked Emily Richards, CEO of ArtisTech Media, the company that operates ccMixter.org. "Her musical gifts are oh so many -- and it is her signature ukulele melodies that really set her apart from everyone else. Her album 'Ukulele Glue' is a favorite of mine from top to bottom -- and all over again!"

The collection kicks off with "Thank Uke" by Spinningmerkaba -- an indie electro-pop track with rhythmic ukulele, boisterous electric guitar solos, and glitchy vocal snippets. Tobias Weber's mix "Ukulele Space Metal" is a ukulele-lead progressive heavy metal space jam with thick guitar riffs and colossal double drums. "Dig the Uke" is a jaunty, upbeat, classic country-folk ukulele number featuring harmonica and banjo mixed by Stefan Kartenberg. Unreal_DM will get your head-bopping and toes-tapping with "Ukulele vs. Kazoo and Whistle, Too." The entire album is filled with gems perfect for critical listening or just creating an uplifting atmosphere in your home, restaurant or party.

"I feel endlessly grateful to the ccMixter community for embracing my little ukulele tunes and showing me how they could be delightfully transformed into new, exciting productions," Kara Square shared. "Something special, magical even, happens when you upload a track to ccMixter. You never know what someone on the other side of the globe will make with it. "Ukulele Glue" is a small sampling of some magical ccMixter moments that are dear to me."

"Ukulele Glue" was created by Kara Square and the international ccMixter music community in a uniquely collaborative manner. Kara recorded and shared her ukulele stems online with artists in the community, who then created and produced dozens of unique, fresh, rousing tracks built around her uke. Kara produced several tracks on the album as well, utilizing stems contributed by other ccMixter artists in her mixes. Ukulele is undoubtedly the sticky glue for this album and it will grab your ears and not let go! Find it on iTunes, Bandcamp, Jamendo, and Spotify.
