| Divas In Defense Takes A Stand Against Gun ViolenceAmerica's most popular self-defense organization unveils new logo
By: Divas In Defense Founded by Parker and his brother Christopher Britto, the company has always been on the cutting edge of personal protection—teaching techniques to match changing times and offenses. As seen on CNN, CBS, Lifetime TV, E!, Bravo TV and other major networks, Divas In Defense (DID) has been changing lives for nearly 10 years. Across multiple continents, women and organizations have leaned on them to train large groups of women and girls. Their most recent international training campaign empowered over 600 women in Kuwait through Olympian Balsam Al-Ayoub's corporation. Divas In Defense's former logo displayed the fierce silhouettes of two women intricately placed within the "D" letters. One in a forward facing sultry stance and the other standing strong with a pistol pointed upward—reminiscent of Charlie's Angels. From DID's inception that empowering logo and class offerings have encouraged women across the world to stand up for themselves, value their lives and most importantly find their confidence. While the logo was beloved, the company's founder (who stays focused on current world news and the self-defense industry) saw fit to make changes to send a positive brand messaging to their domestic and international trainers and consumers. "In the wake of recurring school shootings, Divas In Defense is taking a stand to help end gun violence. We have not changed our position on lawful firearm possession, but we stand against violent, unwarranted gun related deaths. We are advocates for self-protection and personal safety, but these slayings have caused grief to our customer base and to our Nation." –Cole Parker Keeping the familiar pink and gray color scheme, the new logo still houses two women, and instead of one toting a gun, she's in a fighting stance with her fists raised. Influencing thousands of followers on social media, the company hopes that the message is seen and heard by the masses. With gun crimes plaguing schools, personal homes, unarmed citizens, playgrounds and churches, the intent of this change is to remove the idea of gun promotion. Making this change to the global brand comes on the horizon of one of the company's most active advocacy months—April, for Sexual Assault Awareness. Nationally, the month is observed to increase public awareness about sexual assault and educate people within the community on how to prevent sexually violent occurrences. Divas in Defense has always been vocally and physically involved in efforts to empower, prevent and protect against personal violence. Divas In Defense is starting off Q2 with an upward momentum and has plans to make some progressive additions to personnel and developing new subsidiaries.
