How to teach Mindfulness to kids?

Nowadays, the schools and institutions are greatly adopting the culture of Mindfulness activities for children. It has been observed that the kids also suffer from stress and anxiety issues in their small world.

RISHIKESH, India - Jan. 17, 2018 - PRLog -- The Mindfulness therapy greatly benefits the kids in different ways. It reduces the aggression and bullying attitude of kids to a great extent. A feeling of happiness and optimism is developed in the mind of kids, which allows them to enhance their interactions in the society. Thus, the empathy and compassion for others are also increased. The Mindfulness acts also improve the conflict resolving ability of kids.

The reputed organizations understood the importance of Mindfulness benefits and accordingly started to offer Mindfulness activities for kids. The organizations have hired dedicated trainers to deliver best learnings to the kids. Well, the Mindfulness classes are different from those playschool classes.

Here, the kids are subjected to different activities and exercises to develop their mental skills. Well, different trainers have different methods of teaching Mindfulness to Children. The most common exercise associated with Mindfulness is Bell Listening exercise. This Mindfulness exercises for children effectively improves the sensitivity of perceptions. They start to connect with the present moment and can sense every change in the surrounding.

In Bell listening exercise, the kids are instructed to close their eyes and to hear the vibrations of ringing bells. They need to hear the ringing sound until it is stopped. They are supposed to raise their hand when they no longer hear the ringing sound of the bell. Mainly, this exercise is maintained for 1 mins or 2 mins. After that, the trainer collects information from every kid, regarding which type of sounds they heard during this exercise, apart from the ringing bell.

Well, the feedbacks of this exercise greatly reflects the concentration power of kids and thus, the trainers manage their learnings accordingly. Breathing buddies is also another effective exercise for Mindfulness. In this exercise, the kids are instructed to place a small object on their belly and to lie down on the ground. It's like, they need to relax their body on the floor and to identify the up and down movement of an object on their belly, because of breathing.

Well, it's one of the funniest activities associated with Mindfulness. Apart from observing the up and down movement of the object, the kids are also told to imagine their thoughts regarding bubbles. This Mindfulness for kids effectively ensures a good meditation session as well as increases the creativity in mind. Do you know that smell is considered as a powerful tool in resolving the anxiety issues?

Yes, the smell has the power to reduce the distractions in mind and to ensure focus just on one thing. This is the reason, why the experienced trainers prefer to conduct the Smell & Tell game in the Mindfulness sessions. In Smell & Tell game, the kids are offered with different things which have different fragrances. They will close their eyes and will smell the fragrance of every object and will guess the name of that thing.

This activity highly enhances the functioning of smelling sensory in the brain and thus helps in reducing the anxiety issues. Just like this smelling game, the trainers conduct a specific game based on touch. Well, the name of the game is termed as "The Art of Touch". In the Art of Touch game, the eyes of kids are closed, and they are provided with different objects.

Here, they need to touch every object and have to identify the name. Mainly, objects like a feather, ball, stone, toys, etc. are used in the game. This game effectively isolates the senses of kids and helps in understanding the distinct feel of touches. So, like this way, the experienced trainers manage to train the kids with Mindfulness sessions.
