Asian Youth Center Elects New Board of Directors, Recognizes Volunteers with 100+ Hours of Service

SAN GABRIEL, Calif. - Jan. 2, 2018 - PRLog -- The Asian Youth Center (AYC) is pleased to announce the election of its new Board Officers and the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors: Eugene Harris, Bruce Lazenby, and Elizabeth Yang. The AYC Board Officers and new members will be installed during the Volunteer Recognition & Board Installation Dinner on Wednesday, January 10, at 6 o' clock in the evening at Empress Harbor Seafood Restaurant in Monterey Park, CA.

The event will also recognize AYC's top volunteers with over 100 hours of volunteerism at AYC. The Volunteer Honorees are: Caitlyn Nguyen, Derek Deng, Martha Carranza, Bonny Li, and Christina Harrington.

"As a non-profit organization, AYC relies heavily on volunteerism to achieve our mission. Our Board of Directors is entirely volunteer-based, and they provide governance, oversight, and legitimacy to AYC." said Michelle Freridge, Executive Director of AYC. "We are also pleased to recognize our dedicated volunteers who help our programs run on a day-to-day basis. We deeply appreciate all of our volunteers!"

In 2018, Helen Romero Shaw, Public Affairs Manager of the Southern California Gas Company, serves her second year as President of the AYC Board of Directors. Dr. Gay Yuen becomes the Immediate Past-President. Mary Wong, Exact Tax Inc. and Project NEO Founder, becomes the First Vice President. William Hsu, State Farm Insurance, remains the Second Vice President. Julie Ho, LCSW, becomes the Secretary and Raymond Ho, GE Properties Inc., remains the Treasurer.
