Development for Bethpage Residents in Toxic Plume Litigation: Update

NEW YORK - Sept. 26, 2017 - PRLog -- Last fall, Napoli Shkolnik PLLC and Imbesi Law PC filed a class action lawsuit against Northrop Grumman Corporation seeking damages for personal injury, property damage and punitive damages. The suit arose out of the Bethpage area residents' exposure to a toxic plume and toxic contaminants released in the ground.

The law firms sought to file late notices of claim against the Town of Oyster Bay. The Court initially denied the law firms request. However, in a significant ruling on a motion for reargument and reconsideration, the Court agreed with Napoli Shkolnik and Imbesi Law PC in allowing individuals who may have been injured years ago to move forward with their case against the Town of Oyster Bay. The decision is good news for those who were injured years ago by exposure to toxic chemicals, but only recently discovered the injury.
