ProTapes® generously supports Minding Our Business with a $5,500 grant to its Service-Learning Program
Lawrenceville, NJ – April 3, 2017 – ProTapes®, the largest manufacturer of premium tape products designed for use in the Arts and Entertainment industry in the U.S., has made a grant of $5,500 to support Minding our Business (MOB) and its Service-Learning Program for middle- school students.
ProTapes® prides itself on being a positive influence in the communities in which it operates, through it's C.O.R.E. program (caring, outreach, responsibility & empowerment)
The Service-Learning Program is a 12-week after-school program that teaches students about starting and running a business—developing business ideas, crafting a business plan, identifying start-up funding and launching their product. "MOB is able to serve at-risk youth with the generous financial support of companies like ProTapes®, and the program assistance of Rider University student mentors, who help guide middle-school students through each stage of their business venture," said MOB Executive Director, Kevin Wortham. "We are very grateful to ProTapes® for their commitment to the Service-Learning Program, which truly puts students' business acumen to the test, and helps motivate young people to succeed and exhibit pride in their accomplishments."
ProTapes® has been a steadfast contributor to MOB, and 2017 will mark the 4th year in which they have been involved with and supported the Service-Learning Program. "I have had the pleasure of attending MOB classes and workshops", said Miller, "the effectiveness of the MOB entrepreneurial skills program is far and away one of the best I've witnessed, and is the kind of program that provides students with motivation, confidence and self-empowerment. ProTapes®' wants to be a part of the great work that MOB does, and that's why we are excited to continue our support of this exceptional program."
Minding Our Business, a Lawrenceville nonprofit, has been serving the Trenton community since 1997, encouraging low-income youth to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams by supporting, mentoring and educating student participants through the Service-Learning Program.
