RCOM Launches '149 Unlimited' Pack Offering Unlimited Voice Calls and 300MB Data

NEW DELHI - Nov. 29, 2016 - PRLog -- Anil Ambani led Reliance Communications rolled out a bucket plan offering unlimited calls along with 300MB data for the price of Rs.149, targeting the customers using 2G data. The unlimited calls clause will also cover STD calls and the freedom to dial on any network in the country, and the 300MB data can be used over 2G, 3G or 4G networks. The pack can be activated on any phone, regardless of the type of feature phone or smartphone used.

In the company release, Co-CEO of RCOM Gurdeep Singh said, "Our new pioneering yet simple Unlimited Plan has the potential to trigger a paradigm shift in the way Indians recharge their mobile phones, creating a significant shift in the telecom market-as it moves away from the 'Unit Rate' charging regime to a 'Single Recharge and Unlimited Usage' regime."

He also added, "The new unlimited plan is set to change the dynamics of mobile recharges in India, as customers move away from traditional revenue per minute tariff model to a service subscription model based on ARPU."

The newly launched plan was made available in 17 RCOM circles and will not be available in five eastern markets - West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam and Northeast due to unavailability of telco's 2G airwaves in those circles.

The plan will be made available across 2G, 3G and 4G technology platforms with the vision to incentivise 2G, 3G and 4G phone owners to migrate to RCOM. Gurdeep Singh also said that "there are hundreds of millions of older 2G handset-owners in India, and RCOM is positioning the new bucket plan of unlimited voice calls with 300 MB of data to get them hooked to data".

The initiative seems a positive step towards redefining customer experience.
