Vinny's Offers Price Busting Specials

So to celebrate his fourth anniversary back in Cranford, Vinny's Pizza & Pasta (28 Eastman Street, vinnyspizzaandpasta.net) he's come up with some special programs to give families quality meals and keep more money in your pocket.

"We have always done things the old fashioned way," Vinny said. "We make everything from scratch. Just the way your grandparents would make food at home. And, with all the competition for time from after school activities and social media, family time is very important. That's why we want to make sure families can afford a good dinner out."

Vinny's is now offering:

*The Two Pizza Special. Sunday to Thursday, two large pizzas for $18.69.

*Tuesday Night is Family Night. Children 11 and under get a free kids' meal with the purchase of an adult entrée.

*Wednesday Night is Pasta Night.  For $11.95, get a salad, bread and butter and a choice of six different kinds of pasta and 15 different sauces. The special includes one free pasta reorder. Pasta choices include: Penne, rigatoni, linguini, spaghetti and cappelini or cavatelli for an additional $1.50. Sauces to choose from include: Tomato, marinara, oil and garlic, Alfredo, vodka, mushroom or meat sauce. Or try one Vinny's specialty sauces:  Primavera (creamy pink sauce with broccoli, artichoke hearts, mushrooms and peas), Pomodoro (prosciutto, mushrooms and onions in a plum tomato sauce), carbonara (pancetta and onions in a cream sauce), puttanesca (anchovy, capers and olives in a marinara sauce), pasta fagiolo (soup with ditalini pasta and beans in a garlic tomato sauce). Add meatballs, sausage or chicken to any pasta dish for an additional $2. Add shrimp for an additional $4.

These special programs cannot be combined with any other offers.

"I love being in Cranford, I met my wife Theresa in my first restaurant in Cranford, and I am raising my two children, Nicoletta and Dominic, in the community," Vinny said.

Vinny's Pizza & Pasta is an Italian food lover's delight. The menu consists of traditional Italian cuisine and pizza made by Chef Vinny with his unique recipe adaptations that have made him an admired New Jersey chef for years. Vinny also does catering for events large and small.

"I must have catered more than a thousand events in town from Christenings and communions, to showers," he said. "It's a great feeling knowing that people are willing to put such an important event in my hands, I never disappoint."

Growing up in the restaurant business, Vinny got a business degree from Seton Hall University. After two years in the business world, he knew he wanted to be back in the kitchen. In 1992, he opened his first restaurant in Cranford. He sold it in 2002 and he and his wife, Theresa, built a restaurant in Martinsville, N.J. He and his wife missed the Cranford customers. So they sold the Martinsville restaurant and opened Vinny's Pizza & Pasta in November 2012.

"Cranford is a very special place," Vinny said. "It is great to see so many friendly faces enjoying our food every day."
