Smith spent the last 20 years working in health care where she was in senior project management and provided oversight for patient care, policy and procedures in hospital and outpatient settings. She has a Master Degree in Business Administration and is a Kaiser Permanente Improvement Advisor Graduate, which is a healthcare-focused leadership development program.

"Over the years I've seen the care seniors receive when they're in a nursing home or a hospital without dedicated and caring caregivers. I saw that there was a need for a better way of caring for our senior community and I was at a point in my career where I was ready to leave the corporate world.  My passion for senior care would feed my entrepreneurial spirit and provide a needed service in this community made perfect sense. I'm excited about the future of Home Helpers," Smith said.
