LOVELAND, Colo. - Dec. 6, 2016 - PRLog -- Alan and Kayleen Erdman are proud to announce that they're combining their skills in business and health care to launch a new local business, Home Helpers and Direct Link of Loveland, Colorado.

Home Helpers is the nation's leading franchise specializing in comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance. Direct Link is its proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including a fall sensor and an automated medication dispenser. Home Helpers and Direct Link of Loveland serves Loveland, Longmont, Fort Collins, Greeley, Estes Park and the surrounding communities.

"Home Helpers and Direct Link of Loveland offers non-medical services and customizable care plans that can dramatically improve the quality of life for people needing care as well as for family caregivers who may need some respite. Our high-quality caregiving team and our direct owner involvement ensure that you and your loved ones will be treated the way we'd want to be treated," Alan Erdman said.

Prior to opening Home Helpers and Direct Link of Loveland, Alan spent 30 years in customer service and management, most recently as an area manager in the oil industry. Kayleen has been a nurse since 1995 and brings more than 20 years of clinical, hospital and academic nursing experience to the business. She is also working as a nursing teacher at Pickens Technical College in Aurora, where most of her clinical education time is spent teaching students in long-term care facilities.

"When the decrease in the oil industry led to Alan getting laid off, we started researching franchise opportunities. With the increasing need of elderly care services and our genuine want to help others, we decided Home Helpers was the perfect opportunity at the perfect time, so we decided to jump in with both feet," Kayleen said.

The idea to look into in-home care services started with their daughter, Kaitlyn.

"Kaitlyn has been working for a few home health care providers over the past few years and we were intrigued by her work and the companies she worked for. We saw the positive personal relationships she built with the people she care for and the impact those relationships made on both of their lives, but we also saw a lot of room for improvement in the companies themselves. We often caught ourselves saying, 'If this were our company, we would do things differently.' Now, with Home Helpers and Direct Link of Loveland, we can," Alan said.

Home Helpers and Direct Link of Loveland offers free in-home consultations and works with each client to create a flexible, affordable care plan based on a person's individual needs. Services offered include personal care such as grooming, bathing, ambulation, medication management and care management as well as respite care, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, companionship and transportation.

The Erdmans are no strangers to business. In fact, when she was three, Kayleen's family opened a restaurant in North Dakota. She learned early that you to work together – and work hard – to build something great. Now she's looking forward to using that experience to using that experience to build Home Helpers and Direct Link of Loveland.

"I witnessed, first hand, the trials and tribulations of owning a family-run business. I learned early on that if we didn't work together, and work hard, the business would not succeed. This was not an option for us. We HAD to make it work in order to provide for a family of five kids. Not only did we have to live together, but we had to work together as a family," Kayleen said. "Owning our own family-run business will be a challenge, but with hard work and determination, we feel that providing excellent care and running a successful business will be met by working together with the same goals in mind."

The Erdman's team specializes in care for seniors, those in need of recuperative assistance, new mothers and more. With Home Helpers, each individual client receives services tailored to meet their specific needs by caregivers who become an extension of their family. Home Helpers' full-range of home care services empower clients to live healthier and more rewarding lives in the privacy, safety and comfort of their own homes.
