Paragon Europe, an innovative EU advisory and Project Management company conducted the second seminar for the ASKParents project. FOPSIM, the Maltese foundation for social inclusion of vulnerable people delivered the second session of the Integration Through Learning project in order to encourage educators to improve their interaction and communication with people with disabilities. Both projects are EU-funded through the Erasmus+ programme. The second session focused on practical and interactive exercises to give tips on how to communicate with person with disabilities.

The ASKParents project is intended as a source of information and reference for parents who have a child with disabilities. The intended and most important message of the stakeholders for the parents of children with difficulties is making them feel that they are not alone!

At the second seminar, greater emphasis was given on Understanding the Child's Learning Style, Effective Communication and an Individualised Education Programme for parents and their children with disabilities. Attendees had the chance to discuss students' learning difficulties and guidelines for parents and teachers were given.

The aim of the Integration Through Learning project is the social and labour inclusion of people with disabilities. In order to promote labour inclusion, the project aims to remove the main attitudinal, policy and physical barriers including negative attitude of employers and service providers together with policies which are designed and deliberated without the involvement of disabled people.

The Integration Through Learning project session revolved around practical exercises both at an individual level and in groups. The exercises focussed on stereotypes, disability languages, lip reading, and attitudes towards persons with mental disabilities. At the end of the session, a Certificate of Participation was delivered to the participants.
