Exact Blade opens walk-in retail store

NORTHBROOK, Ill. - June 1, 2016 - PRLog -- Exact Blade Knife Sharpening and Fine Cutlery Dealer® has opened a retail location in Northbrook, Illinois at the well known intersection of Waukegan & Dundee Roads, about 25 minutes north of Downtown Chicago.

Exact Blade® is one of a few professional sharpeners in the country with master sharpeners onsite greeting walk-in retail customers.  Most knives and scissors are sharpened while the customer waits.  Garden Tools and other specialty equipment is next day turn around.  The master sharpeners at Exact Blade® can actually make brand new German or Japanese knives sharper than out of the box with some touch ups, without evidence of their work.  The master sharpeners at Exact Blade® finish all knives, no matter the quality, at least at 1000 grit plus leather honing (stropping). Many high end knives like Shun, Global or Zwilling's Miyabi and high-end Solingen beauty shears are sharpened and polished at 4000 grit.  The typical farmers market sharpener will "grind" their customers knives at only 250 to 600 grit while often ignoring the shape and curve of the blade and consider it a finished product. Exact Blade® can usually correct the sloppy work or damage from previous sharpening attempts.

Exact Blade's commercial division offers knife exchange programs to kitchens, restaurants, butchers and schools at competeitive prices, with 4 to 5 times a finer finish than their big competitors. Exact Blade® has a showroom that is ever growing with new knives.  They only sell fine kitchen cutlery knives and accesories.  Sorry, no swords, hunting, shaving or camping items here.  Its just knives, Howard brand mineral oils, cutting boards, knife storage solutions and Freud® brand tools. The owner makes custom cutting boards in any dimension of 1.5 inch thick, mineral oil soaked Dark Walnut, Oak or Cherry block for a fraction of the price of a Boos Block™.

Exact Blade® guarantees its knife sharpening work for 6 months to one year for residential use for knives that are not put in sinks or dishwashers.
