Moorpark Chamber of Commerce honors Face Off With Cancer as Non-Profit Organization of the Year

MOORPARK, Calif. - May 17, 2016 - PRLog -- The annual event, held at the Moorpark Country Club on Tuesday, May 17, was intended to honor those individuals, organizations and businesses that make the Moorpark community a better place to live and work.  As one of twelve nominees, Face Off With Cancer was chosen as the Moorpark area organization that is best seen as setting the standard in the community for volunteerism and philanthropic efforts.

"Our partnerships within the community are a large part of what has allowed this organization to become what it has in such a short period of time," remarked President and Co-Founder Ryan King. "Receiving this recognition from that same community assures us that we are making a difference and motivates us to continue doing so."

Since their establishment in early 2012, Face Off With Cancer has coordinated several hockey tournaments, fundraisers and events to support various local cancer support organizations and multiple families affected by the disease.  As an all-volunteer organization, they rely heavily on the contributions of the local hockey and business communities to support their mission.

In addition to the award, Face Off With Cancer was presented with Certificates of Recognition from the California State Legislature, the 27th State Senate District, the 26th State Congressional District, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors and the Moorpark City Council.
