Taylor's Gift Foundation Seeks Nominations for Outlive Yourself Awards

Second Annual Event Will Raise Money to Assist Families Touched by Organ Donation

DALLAS - May 3, 2016 - PRLog -- Taylor's Gift Foundation - a national nonprofit organization dedicated to the life-saving effort of increasing organ donor registrations and financially assisting families touched by organ donation - is now accepting nominations for their second annual Outlive Yourself Awards.

This year's event is set for Thursday, November 3, at the Belo Mansion in Dallas and will be co-chaired by Saryn Dietz, Jonathan Dietz, Shaley Espinosa and Javier Espinosa. Saryn and Shaley met Javier in high school and went to different colleges, but were brought closer together by the unexpected gift of organ donation. In their senior year of college, Shaley called Javier to wish him a happy birthday and discovered he was sick with what he thought was mononucleosis. Only days after his 22nd birthday, Javier found out that he did not have mono; he was in acute liver failure. Three days later, Javier received the life-saving gift of a perfect liver. The gift giver is an unknown individual who decided to outlive themselves by registering as an organ donor. Javier's liver transplant and recovery brought Shaley and Javier together, and they were later married.

"We truly wish we could thank the family who gave Javier a liver. Taylor's Gift gives us the opportunity to thank donor families. We are involved with Taylor's Gift to support organ donor families and to raise organ donation awareness so that others can have a second chance at life," said the co-chairs. "We are honored to co-chair the Outlive Yourself Awards and further the legacy of Taylor Storch and her gift!"

In 2015, the Outlive Yourself awards celebrated Karen (Cuskey) Hartman and Dr. O.H. "Bud" Frazier for making a lasting difference in their community and the lives of others. The event raised more than $200,000 to assist families touched by organ donation.

Taylor's Gift is currently seeking nominees who embody the "Outlive Yourself" spirit by going above and beyond to serve their family or community. To submit a nomination for the second annual Outlive Yourself Awards, please visit www.Taylorsgift.org beginning May 1 through May 31.
