| ![]() INACSL & SSH Start Joint Regional Workshops Spring 2016By: INACSL The workshops will provide participants with education and discussion on the following topics: INASCL Standards of Best Practice: Simulation℠, the NCSBN Simulation Guidelines for Prelicensure Nursing Programs, Council for Accreditation of Healthcare Simulation Programs Standards, Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE), Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator – Advanced (CHES-A), and Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS). The first regional workshops will be scheduled for Spring 2016. “INACSL is excited about collaborating with SSH to increase the awareness and use of best practices for quality simulation. By improving the experiential learning of simulation participants, simulation educators can positively impact patient outcomes by increasing the quality and safety of health care providers,” said Teresa Gore, PhD, DNP, FNP-BC, NP-C, CHSE-A, INACSL President (2015-2017). “SSH is pleased to partner with INACSL to advance the cause of healthcare simulation. We recognize that bringing best practices to institutions across the country will only strengthen the impact of healthcare simulation and its effect on patient safety,” said Chap Epps, MD, SSH President (2016). If your organization is interested in having an INACSL-SSH led workshop please email inacslinfo@inacsl.org with your request. About the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation & Learning (INACSL) The International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) is the global leader in transforming practice to improve patient safety through excellence in healthcare simulation. INACSL is a community of practice for simulation where members can network with simulation leaders, educators, researchers, and industry partners. INACSL also provides the INACSL Standards of Best Practice: SimulationSM, an evidence-based framework to guide simulation design, implementation, debriefing, evaluation and research. INACSL represents over 1,500 members from 13 countries. The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) seeks to improve performance and reduce errors in patient care through the use of simulation. Established in 2004 by professionals using simulation for education, testing, and research in health care, SSH membership includes physicians, nurses, allied health and paramedical personnel, researchers, educators and developers from around the globe. SSH fosters the improvement and application of simulation–based modalities such as human patient simulators, virtual reality, standardized patients and task trainers.
