The successful turnaround of Secunia – a whitepaper
Within a period of less than two years the Danish software company Secunia managed to go from a situation with heavy losses and declining revenue to at situation with black figures on the bottom line and solid revenue growth.
“Secunia is an excellent example of how a company can succeed by making adjustments to the execution of their business model,” says Hans Peter Bech, managing partner at TBK Consult and author of the whitepaper. “There were no major changes to the products during the turnaround period. All the adjustments that secured the successful turnaround were made in the go-to-market side of the business model. Our whitepaper describes how this turnaround was orchestrated.”
The architect behind the successful turn around was the new CEO Peter Colsted who joined the company at the all-time low in July 2013. There were plenty of surprises and obstacles during the turnaround process and the whitepaper explain how Peter Colsted and his team made continuous adjustments to achieve the objectives they were given by the shareholders. The Secunia case story is an excellent example of expedient business model management where anything but the products is up for adjustments.
Secunia was acquired by Flexera Software in September 2015.
