LOS ANGELES - Dec. 8, 2015 - PRLog -- The 48FILM Project is honored to announce that international producer Daniel Alter has joined as a juror for the 2015 competition.

The short film competition made waves earlier this FALL by announcing the $100,000 (one hundred thousand dollars, USD) budget to film a feature film as Grand Prize.

Daniel Alter began his career in the entertainment industry as a Talent manager with Energy Entertainment, which had a first-look deal with producer Neal Moritz (THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS, 21 JUMP STREET, and I AM LEGEND) at the time.  Alter then launched his Alter Ego Entertainment banner and at 25 was a producer on Twentieth Century Fox's HITMAN starring Timothy Olyphant (JUSTIFIED), based on the popular Eidos video game.  Alter then produced Warner Bros' supernatural thriller, THE APPARITION, starring Ashley Greene (TWILIGHT) and Sebastian Stan (CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER).  With the release of the second HITMAN this summer, Alter's upcoming projects include a live action update of the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series, JONNY QUEST, at Warner Bros; as well as the feature film adaptation of Eidos' KANE & LYNCH video-game with Gerard Butler (OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN) and Adrien Brody (THE PIANIST), currently in pre-production. Alter is also developing the cult-classic Image Comics title, HACK/SLASH, into an episodic drama series with Relativity Media.

The 48FILM Project online festival is open to everyone: beginner to professional, from all nations.  Once registered, a competing team selects a genre and importantly: when they want to start the clock. 48FILM Project provides three (3) elements that are required to be included: a character, a line and a prop. Filmmakers then have forty eight (48) hours to create a short film in English or with English subtitles, four (4) to seven (7) minutes in length and upload it to https://www.48filmproject.com/competition/2015/register. Creators retain the rights to their own intellectual property.

Mr. Alter will be instrumental in selecting the winners.  Winning films will be screened at the 2015 award ceremony in Los Angeles, California on February 9, 2016 at the Director’s Guild of America.
