SALT LAKE CITY - Nov. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- As you look forward to Thanksgiving dinner this month, with its warm food and full plates, it may be hard to comprehend that someone, somewhere, won’t have that opportunity this year. In fact, 444,000 individuals in Utah face the reality that they might not have food to eat each day. Landmark Home Warranty is hosting a month-long food drive this November to fight hunger, and needs your help.

From November 1 to the 31st, Landmark is collecting food and monetary donations for the Utah Food Bank at the Landmark corporate office. Landmark has a goal to donate 500 pounds of food and $500 to the Utah Food Bank.

Chris Smith, President of Landmark Home Warranty, said he is positive Landmark will attain this goal with the help of the community.

“At Landmark Home Warranty, we are passionate about what we do and the challenges we take on as a company,” Smith said. “We are an incredibly driven organization that will fight and push until a goal is achieved.  We also have a great desire to improve the lives of our employees, vendors, partners and the communities in which we operate. With their help, we can reach this goal.”

According to the Utah Food Bank, for every dollar donated, the Food Bank can stretch it to $7.61 of food, services and help for those who are in need of food each day.

Alma Jeppson, CEO and Owner of Landmark Home Warranty, said Landmark wanted to give back to the community through the food drive to help the people who have given them so much.

“It is such an incredible opportunity to give back to that same community that has helped build us up,” Jeppson said. “To see co-workers rally together to bring individuals on our own staff out of hard times is rewarding.  This food drive is a small way in our part to do that for those within our own community.”

Megan Rowe, executive assistant at Landmark, said Landmark decided to host a food drive because so many of the employees wanted to give back.

“I am honored to be a part of a group that cares so fully for those around them,” she said. “We are proud to team up with the Utah Food Bank and are excited to be able to help others and give back to our amazing community.”

If you are interested in participating in Landmark’s food drive, you can bring your cans of food to their office, located at located at 10701 S River Front Parkway, 2nd floor. Hours of donation are between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. If you want to donate money while at the office, you can ask for Megan Rowe, and fill out a donation slip.

You can also donate money and virtual food online under the Landmark Family food drive page here: https://www.utahfoodbank.org/virtual-food?Team=4721.
