STAMFORD, Conn. - Sept. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- The public is invited to attend an Ambassadors’ Roundtable series lunch presentation by Mary Galligan on “Cyber Security and the Importance of Resiliency”. This event will take place at the Stamford Yacht Club on Oct. 7, 2015. The cosponsor of the event is General Reinsurance Corporation.

Galligan retired in 2013 from a distinguished career with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), where she oversaw all Bureau investigations into national security and criminal cyber intrusions in New York City, and advised numerous financial institutions, media entities and law firms during their high pressure situations. Her most recent position was with the New York Office as the Special Agent in Charge of Cyber and Special Operations, where she led more than 400 employees in the largest technical and physical surveillance operation in the FBI.

Galligan gained significant crisis management experience as the supervisor over the FBI's investigation into the terrorist attacks on 9/11, and as one of the On-Scene Commanders in Yemen after the bombing of the USS Cole. She is currently a Director with Deloitte's Cyber Risk Services practice where she advises senior executives at Fortune 500 firms on crisis management challenges, in particular cyber risks. In addition, through board education, cyber war gaming and other strategic efforts, she helps clients develop and execute security programs to prevent and minimize the business impact of cyber threats.

“The level, sophistication and frequency of cyber-attacks on businesses and government require businesses to think beyond their own organization,” Galligan said. “They need to think about cyber security in the context of their industry, government and law enforcement,” she added.

The cost for the lunch and presentation is free for AR series members, $40 for Forum members and $55 for the general public. The event will start promptly at 12 p.m. with a lunch buffet. The presentation will begin at 12:45 p.m. and Ms. Galligan will take questions.

Reservations and advance payment are required.  Space is limited. Please contact the World Affairs Forum at 203-356-0340 or e-mail info@worldaffairsforum.org to reserve.
