Nov. 16, 2021:HYBRID: Forum Series – Public Libraries: Global Sustainability

STAMFORD, Conn. - Nov. 12, 2021 - PRLog -- Talk and Book Signing: Dan Esty - Hillhouse Professor, Yale University

Right on the heels of the world's international climate change negotiations concluding November 12th in Glasgow (the Conference of the Parties or COP26), Professor Dan Esty will share with us the results of this major global event, and developments on the international stage. What pledges and outcomes will materialize, and how will it accelerate progress towards the goals of the Paris Agreement, and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change?

On a national level, what is America's Zero Carbon Action Plan (ZCAP) (https://mcusercontent.com/31fb8e12acb74679122834ad6/files/484eeedd-7ca0-8518-2446-496565fb34d4/zero_carbon_action_plan_exec_summary.pdf), and what does it mean for the role and status of the United States within the global environmental agenda? Professor Esty will discuss with us both the foreign policy dimensions of ZCAP, and well as the strategy it lays out for putting Americans back to work building a vibrant 21st century U.S. economy, based on advanced technologies, good jobs, clean energy, climate safety, and economic security.

Professor Esty will further discuss how the move toward deep decarbonization aligns for the broader need for a sustainable future.
