Follow on Google News | Walmart and Sam's Club Associates Raise $377,214 for Children's HospitalTo raise funds, local Walmart and Sam's Club stores hosted a variety of fundraising activities such as golf tournaments, music festivals, auctions, car washes, motorcycle rides and hot dog sales that propelled giving totals to exceed previous years. East Tennessee Children's Hospital will be using the funds to buy medical equipment such as a new Electroencephalography System (EEG). By purchasing the new EEG system, East Tennessee Children's Hospital will be able to improve patient safety and the standard of care for neurology testing for children. "Walmart and Sam's Club's contributions make a huge impact on East Tennessee Children's Hospital," said Ellen Cole, Children's Miracle Network Program Director for Children's Hospital. "Without their help and support, we could not purchase upgraded medical equipment used to treat thousands of local children every year. Walmart and Sam's Clubs are important partners with us to provide excellent pediatric care to all our patients." Local Walmart and Sam's Club associates have helped raise more than $6.5 million since partnering with Children's Hospital in 1987.
