Tangram Fury Yooper Puzzle Book Has Launched

CEDAR HILLS, Utah - Sept. 4, 2015 - PRLog -- Peepsock Press announced today the ninth in the line of themed Tangram Fury tangram puzzle books, the “Tangram Fury Yooper Book”.  A tangram is a 7-piece ancient Chinese puzzle whose pieces initially form a square, but can be rearranged to form 1000s of other shapes.  This new book is intended for those puzzle-enthusiasts who enjoy solving tangrams of familiar shapes.  These printed books have paperback covers, are 9”x6” in size, and have 133 pages.

“The Tangram Fury Yooper Book” is dedicated to the remarkable and quirky people who live in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, or U.P.  Those who live in the U.P. are known as Yoopers.  They live in a land of endless forests and streams where hockey is more popular than football and while the summers are well worth the wait, they seem to be only a brief pause between snowstorms.  But, prior to the yearend onslaught of snow the fall colors are both staggering and breathtaking.

The people are as inviting as the land is beautiful.  They’re always willing to help push a stranger’s car out of a snowbank or offer them a lift in their snowmobile.  When the winter weather is mentioned, it will likely be pointed out that the current season isn’t half as bad as it was a few years back and frigid details will then be offered up with a laugh and a shrug.

As such, the puzzles in this book depict items familiar to Yoopers.  Whether it be a tribute to Ishpeming hosting the US National Ski Hall of Fame, snowmobiling, or activities from the great outdoors such as camping, fishing, and a big moose, mining and miners from the Copper Country, or the Portage Lake lift bridge, they’ll be found in this book.  “I grew up in the U.P. and loved it there.  I couldn’t resist including a collection of Yooper puzzles in with the other books,” Doug Nufer, designer of the tangram puzzles and author of the Tangram Fury Yooper Book said.

In addition to information regarding the origin and fundamentals of tangrams, the Tangram Fury Yooper Book includes many puzzles to solve.  As with the other Tangram Fury Puzzle Books, this book includes a pattern of a tangram to use for solving the puzzles.

The main section of the book is followed by a bonus section that includes cards for a tangram matching game.  Each book in the series includes a set of cut-and-play cards that can be combined with those of the other books to create an expanding deck of cards.  The cards are also arranged in the book such that they could be photocopied onto colored paper and used with the original Tangram Fury competitive puzzle game.
