Wanda Alexis Alexander Wraps First Week in New Role At University of Maryland

LANSDOWNE, Va. - July 10, 2015 - PRLog -- Wanda Alexis Alexander has completed her first official week as President of the Board of Governors for the Alumni Association of University of Maryland. The transition to President denotes the completion of the two-year term in which Alexander served as President-elect.

As an alumna of the school, Alexander was elected to the board in 2009. She accepted the role of President-elect in July 2013 and was also the recipient of that year’s Distinguished Alumni Award from the College of Undergraduate Studies of University of Maryland, College Park.

“It’s been a great start after serving under our excellent outgoing President, Nicole Pollard,” states Alexander. “I started setting some groundwork in late June by reaching out to the newly nominated At-large Board members who will begin their tenure as I take office."

Alexander had previously connected with the new nominees during the vetting process and spent some time during this first week reaching out to personally inform them of their official nomination to the Board.

University of Maryland’s Board of Governors for its Alumni Association evaluates and supports the mission, strategic direction and future programming of the association itself. Alexander will serve a two-year term as President and continue on as a member of the Executive Committee as well as Board of Trustees in 2017.
