University of Maryland Honors Wanda Alexis Alexander with Tyser Gottwals Award

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - April 20, 2021 - PRLog -- Wanda Alexis Alexander, entrepreneur, author and public speaker, has been designated to receive University of Maryland's Tyser Gottwals Award. The award honors alumni who demonstrate outstanding service to the university. Alexander will receive the award at the alumni association's annual marquee event, A Celebration of Terps: Featuring The Maryland Awards on April 23, 2021.

"I love giving back to the University that poured so much into me and pulled so much out of me at the same time," states Alexander. "It is truly an honor to be on the receiving end of this designation and I look forward to continuing to serve." she concludes.

Each spring, the University of Maryland's Alumni Association honors the achievements of seven alum, recognizing their contributions to society through public service or business success. Named for Ralph J. Tyser '40 and Abram Z. Gottwals, this particular award celebrates those who serve the university by donating their time and talent.

Alexander was first elected to the Alumni Association's Board in 2009. In 2013, she received the Distinguished Alumni Award and served a two-year term as President of the Alumni Association's Board of Governors before moving on to the Board of Trustees in 2017.
