Metal Legends Overcast to Play First Show in Boston Area in 17 Years

BOSTON - Jan. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Jan. 1, 2015 – Boston, MA- Metal/hardcore supergroup OVERCAST is set to headline a string of shows throughout their New England stomping grounds, including their first show in the Boston / Cambridge area in over 17 years. The band will play four shows in Massachusetts and Rhode Island between January 29^th and February 1^st to celebrate the remastered release of a discography-spanning 3-CD set, Only Death is Smiling 1991-1998, due out on February 3^rd, 2015 on Bullet Tooth Records. The CD set will be available at all four of the band's live shows.

OVERCAST, one of the forefathers of modern American metal, includes Mike D'Antonio of Killswitch Engage, Brian Fair of Shadows Fall, Jay Fitzpatrick of Acaro, and former Killswitch Engage member Pete Cortese. On their first outing in over a year, the band will play The Middle East Upstairs in Cambridge, Massachusetts on January 29^th and a matinee show at Ralph's Rock Diner at 2pm on February 1^st.

On two of the four shows, OVERCAST band will be joined by THE EMPIRE SHALL FALL (featuring vocalist Jesse Leach of Killswitch Engage) and SWARM OF EYES on two of the four shows.

Fans can catch all three bands together at the January 30^th show at The Ruins at the Collosseum in THE EMPIRE SHALL FALL's hometown of Providence, Rhode Island, as well at Ralph's Rock Diner in Worcester, Massachusetts on the evening of January 31^st.

Formed in 2008, THE EMPIRE SHALL FALL is a progressive fusion of metal, hardcore, and jazz. This is the band's first outing since Leach rejoined Killswitch Engage in 2012.

SWARM OF EYES, joining OVERCAST and THE EMPIRE SHALL FALL for two of the four shows, will be playing new material from their upcoming EP, as well as songs from their debut release, Designing the Dystopia.

Tickets for both the January 31^st and February 1^st shows in Worcester have already sold out. However, tickets are still available for both the January 29^th show in Cambridge and January 30^th show in Providence.
